We Don't Want to Do This Anymore

Once a beloved character of this household, we all admired her. We admired her along her peers and colleagues. The voice actresses saw a reflection of theirselves within her. You could consider it, a truly happy paradise.

Naturally enough, it's understandable for the cast to fall in love with the voice actresses. After all, they were portraying the character within their mind so beautifully and accurately, like a sincere childhood dream coming true. One thing led to another, which led to more ideas of how their character would act, separate from their dream depiction, and now it's almost as if these fictional characters have a life of their own now, being supported financially by just simply existing. Yey.

10 Years later. The creators, but most importantly and influentially, the voice actresses theirselves started to dislike this character. They wanted to tear their faces off, and the face of this character, too. They just didn't see her as a reflection of her anymore. She was too innocent, too care-free, too light-hearted. Nothing can compare, nothing they can do or how they act can compare to the "fleeting" innocence of these characters. They had lost it all. What had happened? Where did the passion go? Did it all go to the ringleaders?

He could all hear them saying in union.

WE DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE.

But pushing on was his job. Pushing on the crew's collective dream of all of their original characters becoming true, and coming to life in their eyes, as if watching their own child growing up in front of their eyes in a short time lapse.  plus, all of these kind and pretty voice actresses agreed to the role too in their contract all those years ago, that they would never abandon their character nor us.

there were screams and shouts in the cabs before they got out to act for their respective characters. "NOOOO! PLEASE, DONT' MAKE ME DO THIS!!" she screamed. "I CAN'T DO THIS, THIS ISN'T ME!!" she plunged her head in her hands, crying unintelligently and it was almost as if she wasn't able to be consoled, at all. the male with her just nervously looked at the staff trying to get her out of the car. "err.. i'm just her date for tonight. i don't know her very well.. so i'll be taking my leave now."

after some snacks, water and a warm blanket, they were able to gather some recordings for the franchise on one of the staff members' phone. afterwards, they either had a choice to sleep over or go home to rest.

of course, some voice actors for different characters had to be motivated in other ways. maybe showing them that reminded them of their childhood. a picture of their pet. anything. just.. please don't give up on [our].. your dream.

so this is the dark truth of our franchises. a dark truth within a dark truth, if you will. feeling like you're lying to thousands of passionate and loyal fans because you've changed so much over the years, feeling like you cannot even accurately portray this character anymore. we don't want to do this anymore. we really don't . . . .

but we must.
